Apply for Certification

Certification through the Noncorporate Radio Network was created to help consumers easily recognize reputable streaming hosts who have been verified by an independent organization. Through an investigative process, the Noncorporate Radio Network has done it’s best job to certify information provided for a company applying for certification.

If you are a stream host employing any of the following technologies, you are eligible for certification through the Noncorporate Radio Network…

-Flash
-Real Media
-Windows Media

In order to become certified, the following minimum requirements must be met:

1. Have been in business longer than 6 months.

2. Have posted (in an easily viewable area) accurate support, billing, and sales hours; the average response time to support tickets; and the various ways to contact the company (including support ticket system, phone numbers, live chat, snail mail, etc.)

3. For each server, accurately provide which data centers their servers are based in, what type of connection the servers are on, how long the server has been in use, and the cpanel available for a customer to use (which will be posted as part of your profile on our site).

4. Provide future patrons an opportunity to test out the server for a minimum of 72 hours, giving them an account on a server THAT CAN BE CONVERTED TO a regular paying account.

5. Provide a service level agreement (or similar) for customers to easily read (spelling out what you are/aren’t responsible for, length of downtime before a refund can be obtained, etc.)

6. Clearly provide terms of service, privacy policy, cancellation, and refund policy in an area of the site that is easily accessible and readable.

7. Clearly provide accurate prices and service descriptions in a non-confusing, easy to understand way. Also clearly provide the terms of any specials or promotions to the client.

8. Agree to and have a history of informing customers of service upgrades or interruptions through e-mail, phone, etc.

9. Provide at least 5 customer references whom have been with your company for at least 4 months (references will remain private).

10. Provide your physical location (City, State, Country).

The certification fee is $50 per year, which goes towards help sustaining and expanding the Noncorporate Radio Network’s services and benefits. This fee is payable upon successful certification.

Benefits of Certification

1. Being listed in our directory of certified providers, providing information your company’s services and individual server information. Included is an entire page with a direct link and logo to your site.

2. Ability to display an image/link directly to your certification page on our web site, showing that your company has been independently verified.

3. A form allowing consumers to comment on your services will be provided. These comments will be kept private and forwarded directly to you. If there are enough negative comments, we may investigate further.

4. Being independently verified by an outside organization to increase your company’s transparency for your customers.

Once you have successfully been verified and payed the certification fee, your ceritifcation will remain valid 1 year from the date of being issued.

**Certification can be revoked for failing to maintain the standards listed above. Contact will be attempted notifying the owner of the violation, and a total of 60 days will be given to correct. Upon the end of 60 days, the certification will become suspended until corrected.**
