Johnson City, TN

The detour is an independent radio station offering several channels, detour MUSIC and detour TALK. The station began in 2005 with no hosts and 1 channel, and has now grown to include over 12 local shows and 3 stations. The station was created to fill a void of independent media in the Tri-Cities, TN area. All three stations are non-commercial, and completely paid out of the pocket of the station owner’s paycheck. The Noncorporate Radio Network was founded by the detour’s owner, Aaron.
